Listening/ Phone lines
Previously we had two different numbers but we have now changed our phone number to 0113 380 1285. If you study at Leeds University, Leeds Beckett University or Leeds Trinity you can also find Leeds Nightline’s number on your student cards!

Please note that unfortunately, we are unable to accept calls from those aged under 16 years old. However, we are able to provide information on alternative services more appropriate for the needs of these callers.

Instant Messaging

In addition to our information and listening phone lines you can also get in touch using our e-listening service. We provide exactly the same support, just using a computer.

You can also access the service whilst abroad so you can get in touch if you are studying overseas.

Open from 8pm until 8am, you can speak to us by clicking the blue box at the top of the page.

Our IM service is completely confidential and anonymous – we don’t have access to your IP address or any other identifying details. You may receive a “busy” message if all our volunteers are currently speaking to other callers. However, you can choose to wait in a queue, try again later, or use one of our other services.

It is possible that additional Nightline volunteers may view your conversation, for training and support purposes only.

You can also contact us at any time during the day or night by dropping us an email.
Our volunteers will reply during our operating times and we aim to get back to you within 48 hours.

Like our phones service, emailing is completely confidential and anonymous and no-one will know you have emailed Nightline. We cannot see your email address so you won’t be identifiable by our volunteers.
